After putting a pot of water on the stove to boil eggs or pasta, we leave it and begin doing some other tasks. To make sure you don't forget about it, set the timer clock on the range which will buzz when finished. We all get busy doing other things around the house and it's a helpful way to remember there's something cooking before all the water boils out and the item possibly burns. I learned from experience ;-)
