Today marks the 100th Anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic on April 15, 1912 in the north Atlantic Ocean. The ship left port with such fanfare and excitement by the passengers and crew. The Titanic was hailed as the "unsinkable ship," but after hitting an iceberg, the ship sank within 4 hours. Many passengers made it into the lifeboats, but others were not so lucky.

The other event in history today is the Major League Baseball debut of
Jackie Robinson on April 15, 1947 for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Jackie
Robinson was the first black player in MLB and broke the baseball color
line. Robinson was instrumental in bringing an end to racial segregation
in professional baseball.
Jackie Robinson played 2nd base for the Brooklyn Dodgers. He was born on January 13, 1919 in Cairo, Georgia and died on October 24, 1972. He was 53. Source:

WOW what a day! I was watching this tv show on ABC last week, "ball boys," and the father and son own a sports memorabilia shop and they actually went to a dealer who had an autographed jackie robinson bat! It was worth $150K
