Weekend Plans, but Coffee 1st

The weekend is looking pretty good despite the clouds still hanging around. Its keeping the temps down for now. I always have to ask my readers what's up this weekend? As I sip my morning coffee, I'm planning my own.

Balloons Happy Birthday
President Barack Obama turns 51 today ~Happy Birthday Mr. President. I bet it will be a nice day around the White House with family, friends and staff. The White House baker is probably whipping up a delicious cake ~gotta blow out some candles.

I was thrilled to read that gold medal gymnast Gabby Douglas will appear on the cover of the Corn Flakes cereal box this fall. She had an historic win on Thursday in her floor performance. Check out the story on the Grio and see a picture of Gabby holding the cereal box. I imagine these boxes flying off the shelves when the cereal hits the grocery store shelves in the fall.

Have a wonderful weekend everybody and appreciate your visits to my blog. I am motivated by your support and driven to make sure the content is not only informative, but a fun experience.

Obama is fully briefed by David Beckham's underwear range

HERE'S THE READ ->Obama is fully briefed by David Beckham's underwear range via MSN
We've all seen images of David Beckham in his new line of underwear. Apparently David Beckham sent 50 pairs to the President at the White House ~all in fun after being teased by President Obama when Beckham's line came out. We we will only wonder if President Obama wears the undies which are sexy. Just sayin'!

Obama in the stands

Obama is THAT dad at his girls’ basketball games via MSN
Smiley How cool is this and bet the girl's enjoy having their dad at the games. Given President Obama's busy schedule, I know he makes every effort to be in the stands cheering on his daughters. Of course, we all know the President is an avid basketball player himself.

Black History Month

The month of February kicks off Black History Month. It's a chance to highlight African-Americans who were trailblazers in history long ago and in this current day. From Harriett Tubman, The Tuskegee Airmen, Duke Ellington, poet Langston Hughes to Barack Obama, the first African-American President of the United States, the entire month is celebrated to give everyone a chance to learn more about black history. The opportunities and advances in music, education, film, fashion, medicine & science are strides many African-Americans have made that encourage others to never give up on their dreams.

Check out community events, school projects with the kids, college lectures, or concerts being held during Black History Month. Don't miss out and be inspired!

President Obama sings Al Green

President Obama was attending a campaign fundraiser last night at the historic Apollo Theater in Harlem when he sang a snippet from one of singer Al Green's hits "Let's Stay Together." The reference the President makes when he says "the Sandman didn't come out" meant that if someone singing on stage was getting booed by the crowd, a guy from backstage who they called "Sandman" would come out and kindly escort the contestant off the stage. It was all in fun and part of Amateur Night. I must say the President has a smooth voice, he's so cool!

Michelle Obama joins Twitter

Michelle Obama joins Twitter, ajc.com
Hooray and I'm following her! While I know the campaign staff will tweet for her, there may be a few times when the First Lady posts a tweet herself. Hope I catch it in my Twitter feed. By the way, I follow @BarackObama too!
