$4 Gas, Really!

Believe it and the price of gas is going nowhere but up. Last year we were bracing ourselves for the $3 prices that hit just around spring break travels. We all probably made adjustments in the budget to cover the rise in prices to keep the gas tanks full.

Here are some ideas to help deal with the rise in gas prices and sustain your daily lifestyle:
--->Start using public transit system if convenient. Take the bus or train everyday or several days out of the week. Catch up on a good read on the way.
--->Carpool with a co-worker who lives nearby. Just make sure it's someone reliable, dependable, and punctual. Don't lose your job over being late.
--->Brown bag it like never before to save money.
--->Telecommute from home when possible. Make sure to be available throughout the workplace hours.
--->Got spring break travel plans with the family, no time like the present to sock $5 a week into the savings jar to cover the gas for the fun getaway.

Keep your eye out for any drops in gas prices, but don't burn gas driving around chasing down the lowest prices. If it's just a short distance to the low price station, it's worth the drive.

  1. I don't mind the higher gas prices because it comes closer to reflecting true market value. Other countries pay much more, and consequently use less. This is exactly what we need to be doing.
