Hello, a 4-day work week brings TGIF around quickly. It has really been busy for me especially after landing that super writing gig.
The 84th Academy Awards are coming up on Sunday, February 26 at 7pm ET on ABC. The classical radio program I listen to is playing music from some Oscar winning films and the score from the movie "Doctor Zhivago" is playing as I type this post. I love that film starring Omar Sharif. The film score category is one of my favorites at the Oscars.
It looks like best buddies George Clooney and Brad Pitt are nominated in the "Best Actor" category for their films "The Descendants" and "Moneyball" respectively. In the "Best Actress" category, Meryl Streep is up for her role as Margaret Thatcher in "The Iron Lady." Actress Viola Davis is nominated for her riveting performance in "The Help." There are so many categories and nominees that I couldn't mention them all. Keep up with the list of nominees on the website for the Oscars.
It's going to be fun to watch Billy Crystal host the Oscars again. He always has a great opening of song and dance that truly gets the show off to a fun start. As we know, there have been some hits and misses with the hosts like last year for instance. In my opinion, James Franco and Anne Hathaway fell flat even with all the buzz leading up the awards show.
Anyone attending an Oscar party with friends or throwing one of your own? I have heard lots of people do and asks their guests to dress up. Hey, no casual jeans at an Oscar party. Here's an idea, head to a vintage clothing store or consignment shop and check the racks for an outfit. You're going to look fabulous darling!
