National Diabetes Month

November is National Diabetes Month. This is a chronic disease that millions of people deal with everyday.  Type 1 diabetes requires daily insulin injections & Type II diabetes usually can be controlled through losing weight & eating healthier. The American Diabetes Association has lots of information that will be helpful in learning & understanding more about diabetes. This month, think about participating in a walk or support someone who may be walking. Plus, make a donation to help researchers continue to find a cure. I bet many of us have a family member or friend with diabetes and know the encouragement and support they need with controlling the disease. Those with diabetes have to check their blood sugar several times a day along with eating healthy and exercising. The holidays can be tough with all the food & sweets around so help them stay on track.

My hope is one day a cure will be found for diabetes and having a month bringing the disease to the forefront is a good thing.
