One of Atlanta's top TV anchors, Monica Pearson is retiring at the end of this month from Channel 2 news. I remember being so impressed with seeing an African-American woman on the local news channel when we moved to Atlanta. A celebration in Monica Pearson's honor was held last night and the Atlanta Journal Constitution has a great gallery of photos you can view here. We sure will miss her smiling face each day!
I bet fans of her book club are thrilled with this news. During her
show, the book club was very popular and many of the books skyrocketed
up the New York Bestseller List after Oprah Winfrey chose it for the book
club. The first book Wild sounds like a good read.
