Neil deGrasse Tyson Lecture

WATCH HERE ->Neil deGrasse Tyson: Space Exploration is Good for Our Culture (and More Good Links From Around the Web) via Open Culture
EmoticonA super lecture by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson at the 28th National Space Symposium. I enjoy watching NOVA on PBS which features space and science innovations, exploration & discovery.  Dr. Tyson presents segments on NOVA which are fascinating. This lecture includes Q&A from the audience.

NASA Rover Launch

I just love these launches by NASA and this is good video footage. The name of the Rover is 'Curiosity' which seems fitting since it will rove around on a curious search of life on Mars.

Running on the Moon

This is a very ambitious endeavor for the runner and training has begun. We've already had the historic 'walk on the moon' and now someone wants to run a mile. Since the space program has ended for any future space travel, the runner is working with private companies in order to soar to the moon. When the time comes, I wonder which running shoe he will choose.

Look, Up in the Sky

Very intriguing on just where this bus-sized satellite will land on Friday. I understand NASA is monitoring it's movement and totally in control, that's refreshing.

Calm After The Storm

Just wanted to extend prayers and thoughts for all the people impacted by Hurricane Irene. I'm sure many of us watched extensive coverage on the news and The Weather Channel. The hurricane has turned into a rainmaker, but even that can be damaging. There is a bit of calm after the storm, but still not much. The image below from NASA shows the massive size of Hurricane Irene, incredible!
