Just last week it was National Ice Cream Day. Check out these top 5 store-bought brands. My favorite is Neapolitan which is a creamy combination of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. Just scoop me up one of each and pass me a spoon;-)

Cake and Ice Cream with Friends

Good Sunday evening. I enjoyed a really nice afternoon with a family who celebrates Sunday afternoons together after church with dinner and just time together. Today was extra special as the family ate dinner out to celebrate the birthdays in the month of July. Afterwards, everyone met up at the home for cake and ice cream.

I did not attend the dinner, but did stop by for cake and a few scoops of vanilla ice cream. I don't get over to their house much, but when I do it's always a wonderful day and the lady who invites me is so sweet. I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday especially with family and friends.

Weeknight Family Fun

Who says you have to wait for Fridays or the weekend for a family fun night. That's right, nobody. The holiday leftovers are surely long gone by now. How about grilled cheese sandwiches, small salad and some chips on the side for dinner tonight?

Wait a minute, can't leave out something sweet and ice cream is a perfect pick. Before leaving the office today, call home and ask the kids what flavors they would like you to pick up at the grocery store. There are lots of buy-one-get-one-free and 2-fer deals at the stores these days. Grab ice cream cones too.

You might be wondering why I would suggest chips and ice cream with childhood obesity and Type II Diabetes on the rise. I hear ya, but I believe in "moderation" with anything and not making certain foods so taboo. Plus, everybody can work it off after dinner by playing video on the Wii player or charades. Now that's family fun!

Scream for Ice Cream

Hope everyone had a Wonderful Wednesday as we reach the mid-point in the week. Now is the time to charge ahead on your projects and assignments. Just a bit of motivation for all of us to keep going in everything we do. As I finish this post, the ice cream truck just drove slowly through the neighborhood. It brought back childhood memories of when we would hear the music which signaled the ice cream truck was nearby and we started to get our money ready. A few times the ice cream truck would have stopped for other kids and would be moving along. We would scream out for the driver to stop so we could buy our favorites. Lucky for us, he always did. Perfect timing!

What's Your Flava?

Hello weekend and my readers! I just checked my Facebook page and lots of friends have already posted heat-related updates using words like 'scorching and sizzling' to describe the day. They beat me to the punch as I would use the same on my wall. Keep in mind that wearing light color clothes are cooler than darker ones. Most important, drink plenty of water while out and about. If you can stand the heat, have some fun in the summertime. Remember to take lots of breaks to cool down and look for shaded spots. There are only a couple of days left in July and it's National Ice Cream Month. What's your favorite ice cream flava, pick it up at the grocery store ;-) Mine are strawberry, chocolate and butter pecan, Yum!

Weekend Hello!

I got an early start this morning on errands and feel pleased to have the grocery store run out of the way. I probably have mentioned before that getting an early start on weekend errands is a good idea. For one, the stores have restocked the shelves and produce sections. I bought a fresh head of romaine lettuce today. Also, it's nice not having to wait in long checkout lines or dodge the shopping carts down the aisles. While out and about this weekend, take a load off and stop for ice cream. This photo makes you want to step right up and place an order...will that be one or two scoops :) Have a wonderful weekend!
