Rain is Welcome Relief

Bouquet Of Flowers
It's a great day with some rain which I hope comes down all day long. A welcome relief from the drought which as you know is wreaking havoc on farmlands to yards. My flowers will love a good drench. I can't believe it's the last day in the month of July and the summer is moving along nicely.

The funeral for my dear friend is today. I am sure many of his family and friends will be in attendance and a heartfelt eulogy will be given. I will cherish the memories and his kindness to me always as he is laid to rest.

Have a great day and hope some much-needed rain is coming your way if not there already.

A Mother's Love

It's a rainy Mother's Day in Georgia. I just got off the phone wishing my Mom a happy day and we talked for hours. She lives in Mesa, Arizona having moved there in January of this year. The trek from Indiana took two days, that's a long drive. Even though many miles separate us, we cherish the time spent chatting on the phone, sending emails, and reading updates on Facebook. Just the other day, my cordless phone started beeping during one of our marathon calls ~Happy Mother's Day!

Me & My Furry Friend

I came across this picture while looking through some emails. My cousin visiting from Mesa, Arizona took this picture of me and my cuddly Cocker Spaniel Coale some years ago. I noticed the tennis ball in my hand which was his favorite playtime. I remember it was hard to get him to bring the ball back so I could throw it again. Coale passed on in June 2009 and I miss him dearly. The memories live on and this picture brings back the many happy moments we shared.

Remembering 9/11

On the 10th anniversary of 9/11, the world remembers that tragic day and the many innocent lives lost. There were so many who helped in the rescues including firefighters, police officers, citizens, search & rescue dogs plus many more. We remember the families who lost loved ones on 9/11 and keep them in our thoughts and prayers. We will never forget!

Happy Mother's Day

Just want to send Happy Mother's Day greetings to everyone. I spoke with my Mom by phone this morning. She received my card and said she started to cry on the words I wrote. When I started to write my own words on the card, the loving thoughts of her love, support and kindness in my life flowed. She gave me the encouragement and confidence that have sustained me in many of life's choices. I was happy to know that her heart was touched. I'm remembering my fave breakfast that my Mom would make called "chipped beef on toast." It's a warm and yummy meal that really can be eaten anytime, but breakfast was even more special when I saw my Mom preparing it. I also have fond memories of my grandmother who passed away a few years ago. I always say that my green thumb for indoor plants came from her. I remember anxiously wanting to help her water the plants out on the back deck. She would say, "Cindy you already watered that one." Enjoy the memories of Mother's Day and all the women who have made an impact in your life. With Love, Mom!
