Happy Mother's Day Weekend

After a cloudy start, the sun is out on Mother's Day Weekend! Just stepped back in from the patio for a quick sun soak. Of course, coffee cup was in my hand. The birds are at the feeder for seed delight and backyard nibbles of bread. I'm spoiling them!

I know it's a busy weekend for everyone with shopping, cooking and baking in preparation for mom so I won't hold you long. I thought The Beatles Love album would be a lovely listen over the laptop while doing stuff around the house. There are some groovy hits on the album and perfect for Mother's Day weekend.

Hopeless Romantic

Great one-on-one interview with Lionel Richie on Piers Morgan's CNN show last night. On love, Lionel shared that he is a 'hopeless romantic' and knew it from an early age. Hey, that's not such a bad thing. The singer has brought us lots of love songs not only in his solo career, but his days with The Commodores. Think "Hello" which is a very romantic song!

Love Quote of the Day

Hello everyone, I was looking for a few motivational quotes to get Monday off and running, but this "Love" quote really caught my eye and I thought what the heck, go on and post it. Let me add that the name of the person behind this quote fits perfectly. More importantly, where can I meet someone quoting these eloquent words.

Music Monday

A newbie for Music Monday. One of my Twitter followers shared this new song today, Love N' Life. Two thumbs up and Erikka J has a hit on her hands. Hey, leave a message in the comments and let me know what you think of the song. Thanks!

Valentine's Weekend

One of my favorite Atlanta radio stations, KISS 104.1FM has been spinning lots of "love songs" in the mix today and that got me thinking that people might be getting out this weekend for early Valentine's Day celebrating. The sweet day falls on Tuesday next week so the weekend is a clever idea especially at restaurants which are usually even more packed on the actual day. I hope your weekend is going well. It's a bitterly cold one in Atlanta and the wind is gusty. This is going to be an extra blanket night for sure;-)

I have been listening to the new album by Roberta Flack called "Let it Be Roberta: Roberta Flack Sings the Beatles." It's simply fantastic and some of the songs included are Let it Be, Come Together, and The Long and Winding Road. I have listened to the album back-to-back while working on my laptop. Roberta Flack has had a successful singing career of her own and it's nice to hear her smooth and mellow voice again.

This is one of Roberta Flack's smash hits that has been covered by Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys, and British singer Susan Boyle. Let's listen to Roberta sing it, Enjoy!

Saturday Night Spin

There is nothing like listening to good music as we whind down into Saturday night. Check out this new single from Robin Thicke titled Love After War which is from his fifth forthcoming studio album. The website mentioned that the album will include collaborations with Usher, Maxwell, Faith Evans and Pharrell. I can already tell that will be one hip album. Until then, enjoy this spin!
