First Day of Spring

Happy Spring to all and I sure hope the skies where you live are full with sunshine. The ATL sky is bursting with brightness. I feel giddy, how about you? Sharing Good News

Late night greetings and this piece of good news has me bustling with excitement. Last summer I came across the internet radio station Funk Republic Radio and I wrote a blog about it titled "Turn Up the Radio." Well, I am now a Contributing Writer for the website. I wrote my first article yesterday. I received an email informing me that my article was published and clicked over to the website and there it was. I was like Yes!

My first assignment was a story on one of the on-air personalities who spins the funk jams every other Wednesday. He's also a member of a groovy band which is mentioned in the article. Here it is "Mark Bittler - Funk Radio's Mr. Regroovable World."

The station is based out of Tacoma, Washington and spins music from the 60s, 70s and 80s from Parliament,  James Brown, Ohio Players, and Teena Marie to name a few. I am thrilled with this writing opportunity and to cover a music genre filled with funk & soul.

Back in the summer of 2011, I posted a blog titled Turn Up the Radio about discovering the internet radio station  Funk Republic Radio. I am still listening to the online site that spins music from the 60s thru the 90s. The station is based out of the Seattle/Tacoma area. Some of the artists you'll hear include Parliament, Isley Brothers, James Brown, Isley Brothers, Ohio Players and more. The site has a "pop out player" so you can keep working while listening to nothing but pure funk jams. I follow the site on Twitter and earlier this week I re-tweeted one of their spins while on my laptop. A few minutes later, the DJ gave a shout out to "Cynthia Fox" and I was like WOW. Give Funk Republic Radio a listen and I bet your dial will stay tuned to it.
